Glasgow International Airport (GLA)
Airport Hotels and Accommodation
As Scotland's biggest city and home to a population of around one million people, Glasgow is always busy and its thriving tourism scene is matched by a good choice of hotels. Central Glasgow is where the majority of the accommodation awaits and this area has recently been renovated and somewhat revitalised, with the arrival of some exceptional shopping and entertainment complexes.
The Clyde Auditorium is one such venue and was completed just before the turn of the new millennium, being sited next to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC).
Numerous airlines at Glasgow Airport (GLA) serve dozens of UK, European and worldwide cities, with around seven million passengers coming in and out of the facility annually. The city of Glasgow has a massive hotel, guest house and bed and breakfast base that includes some quality business establishments.

Glasgow: City Hotels and Accommodation
Hotels in the city centre are just 13 km / 8 miles east of Glasgow Airport (GLA) and spread around several central districts and neighbourhoods. Much of the accommodation in this part of Glasgow is well-connected to the city's attractions and sights, as well as being within walking distance of many superb restaurants, local department stores and shopping centres.
Further hotels, including a number housed in historic buildings, are located in and around the Charing Cross area, on the outskirts of Glasgow city centre and often close to a range of entertainment venues and theatres. Some of the city's best value hotels and cheap guest houses lie alongside the sprawling Glasgow University campus, close to the Kelvinhall International Sports Arena and a range of popular nightspots.
Other noteworthy districts in Glasgow, which contain more than their fair selection of hotels, include the trendy Merchant City neighbourhood, the historic medieval area, and the southern side of the city - where family run B&Bs are particularly plentiful.
